Cleaning of carbon deposits in the intake area and on the valves
As a partner of Lambda, we offer the cleaning of carbon deposits in the intake area and on the intake valves (FSI issue) using the BEDI 1938 cleaning device. Additional applications for this device include intensive cleaning of:
- the throttle valve
- the secondary air systems
- the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR)
The BEDI device achieves impressive results. Carbon deposits and residues can be excellently removed with it often. Direct injection, TFSI, and TSI engines tend to develop deposits and carbon buildup on the valves, which can lead to power loss, costly follow-up repairs, and even engine damage over time, if left untreated.
If the carbon deposits are already too severe, we recommend performing a mechanical cleaning of the intake passages. The intake manifold is removed, and the intake area is blasted with walnut shell granulate. The residues from the carbon deposits are completely removed. This process makes the expensive replacement of parts or the complete disassembly of the cylinder head, including the affected components, unnecessary. During the cleaning, the blasting material is immediately suctioned away. Only the intake channels being treated remain exposed, and all other areas are carefully sealed off to prevent unwanted granulate from entering.
For gasoline engines, we also recommend checking and cleaning the fuel injectors. Faulty injectors are not always noticed during normal driving. However, dribbling or a poor spray pattern can eventually lead to engine damage.
